Blog action day

This is being written from balmy Lisbon on a very slow computer...

For blog action day I wanted to recommend Freecycle. As the name suggests it's free recycling.

They describe themselves better than I could: "Welcome! The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,142 groups with 3,957,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free. To sign up, find your community by entering it into the search box above or by clicking on “Browse Groups” above the search box. Have fun!"

I couldn't believe it when I found out about this idea. It's free, zilch, nada; it's ecological, environmental, economical. It's genius, it's saintly, its.... And how come everyone else knew when I didn't? Ha. So incase you're like me, I thought I'd let you know. I belong to my local groups in Islington, London, and have received a sturdy set of shelves, and given away printer ink cartidges and old kids clothes. Find out if there's a group in your area and join now.
I looked up Portugal, seeing as I'm here, and am pleased to say that there are groups in Lisbon, Braga, Coimbra, Aveiro and Porto.

Thanks to Rosa for suggesting joining in this action day.
