I once received a gift where the paper-wrapping was far more cherished than the filling. It's up there with my favourite papers. In my making-paper- bunting-phase (doesn't everyone have one?) it always featured, but in a limited fashion so as to never quite use that last piece.

I had no idea where it came from til I stumbled on this adorable coat hanger at
Rose and Radish. IT IS THE PAPER. And I really want the hanger. Really. It's by a Dutch company
Pakhuis Oost. So much of what they design is delicious and a celebration of childhood, the kind of objects that make me touch my own childhood again. There are bookends, folding tables, bunting, soft toys...I emailed them asking where they retail in UK, still no reply, but today I saw that the extremely cool kid's shop
Olive Loves Alfie in Stoke Newington stocks some of their stuff, though not the longed for deer. I feel slightly guilty when I covet like this, as if I'm a rampant consumerist, though it happens rarely. Somehow this paper, these deer and me, have a connection. One day we will meet. Fate. And then there's the melamine plates.
