Leila's Shop

This week Fabrico Próprio featured my sister's wonderful food store-kitchen "Leila's Shop". Of course I'm biased so I'll only say it's a very beautiful space. She collaborates with many designers, like Martino Gamper, Michael Marriott, Alexander Betler and last year the Russian Artist Irina Zatulovskaya (if I could paint like anyone I think it would be her) held an exhibition there of painted terracotta plates and bowls. A marriage of visions. It's a meeting point for the local community and Leila was a founder of Friends of Arnold Circus, a voluntary association to look after the historic Arnold Circus which her shop looks onto.

Ruben sees the shop as a second home, hands lunging at all the food, selling apples, sweeping the floor, pretend cooking and lots of eating.

More photos here and here.
